Oztek Corp.’s 40kW Rack ScaleTM power conversion system (PCS), the OZpcs-RS40, has been certified (Certification Number 032-001) by the SunSpec Alliance for compliance with SunSpec Information Models 1, 17, 103, 120, 121, 122, 123, 126, 129, 130, 135, 136, 139, 140, 143, and 144. The PCS also implements the MESA-PCS models.
The Sunspec Alliance has standardized a host of functions, including information models, data formats, protocols, and system interfaces, in order to allow “plug & play” system interoperability within solar PV power plants. MESA, which stands for Modular Energy Storage Architecture, has collaborated with SunSpec to create open, non-proprietary communication specifications specifically for energy storage systems. The information models themselves are protocol agnostic, and simply define sets of data, or registers, to be used for control, instrumentation, and configuration purposes.
The transformerless, state of the art PCS utilizes the models to provide the advanced “Smart Inverter” features required by the California Rule 21 tariff and UL1741 SA. These include antiislanding, low/high voltage and frequency ride through, configurable ramp rate, and Volt/Var operating mode.
“We believe the SunSpec information standards are a major step forward in “plug & play” system interoperability.” said Dave Zendzian, CTO of Oztek Corp. “We’re confident that receiving SunSpec certification for the OZpcs-RS40 will help our product reach a broader range of customers.”
Oztek will be displaying the OZpcs-RS40 at The Battery Show North America in Novi, Michigan (Booth 2216) from Tuesday Sept 11th through Thursday the 13th, as well as Energy Storage North America in Pasadena, California from Tuesday, Nov 6th through Thursday Nov 8th.
